Creating Has No Limits

As an artist we create paintings, sculptures, films, recordings, writings, and furniture.  We are the dreamers, the creators, the storytellers, the ones who see the world through an artistic eye. When I drive down a road and the sun is shining through the trees, creating shapes in the woods of large sticks reaching up to the sky as high as the clouds, the shapes of the long shadows they create and the beauty in that.  I would love to bring that to a canvas and show others what is so beautiful.  Art is everywhere, in our everyday lives, in our homes, on our walls at work, listening to it in the form of music or reading a novel. Artists are extraordinary in that we create things that no one has ever seen or heard before, we go into our imaginations and bring into existence for the world to see; which gives thought and starts conversations.

We are not bound by any set of rules or by anyone judging what they think good art is or bad art. Good or bad art is subjective and when I hear someone talk about what is good art or bad art it makes me think, this is a person who is bound and constrained in their creative mind. Art is what has come from the essence of the artist’s heart and soul, which is freeing and has no limits. The only things that are physically binding and constraining is the size of your canvas or piece of paper, or how many minutes of film you may have or how much wood or clay you will need for your sculpture. These are not challenges in being creative; these are challenges that can inspire innovation and drive.

Art is boundless and has no limits, its more than color on a palette or swathes of color on a canvas, a paragraph written of poetry, it’s an invitation to see the world through the eye of an artist. As an artist you are given the opportunity in giving people an experience, a new way of seeing things that they have never been seen before. Create freely and boldly!
